You can change a map’s style, add region text or a compass to a map, and reposition and resize a map within its frame.
To change the style of a map:

The book pages appear in All Pages view.

Click the Options button in the toolbar.

Double-click the page that contains the map.
The page spread appears with the page selected.

Select the map.
Important: Be sure to select the map, not the page.

In the Options pane, select a map style.
If you want to remove some of the detail from a map style, deselect the Texture & Shadows checkbox.
To hide or show map region text:
If you zoom out far enough on a map, you will see map regions, such as the names of states and countries. For example, if Paris and London are shown on the map in your book, the map regions show that Paris is in France and London is in the United Kingdom.
Map region text is shown by default. You can easily turn it off and turn it back on later.

To position a map within a frame:

The page spread appears with the page selected.
Select the map and then drag it up, down, left, or right to the location you want.
To resize a map within a frame:

Double-click the page that contains the map.
The page spread appears with the page selected.

Select the map.

Drag the zoom slider that appears above the map to show more or less detail on the map.
To remove all the changes you made to a map:

Double-click the page that contains the map you want to change.
The page spread appears with the page selected.

Select the map.

Press the Control key while you click the map.
Choose Restore Default Map from the shortcut menu that appears.
