You can use the design tools in the Options pane to apply several color effects to a photo used in a calendar. These effects are applied only to the instance of the photo that is used for the calendar, and are not applied to the photo in your iPhoto library.
If you want to rotate, enhance, retouch, or otherwise edit a photo used in a calendar, use the iPhoto editing tools. Any edits you make with the editing tools are applied to all instances of the photo, including the photo in your iPhoto library and any other projects that use the photo.
To add an effect to a photo on a calendar:
Double-click the page that contains the photo you want to add an effect to.

Click the Options button in the toolbar.

Select the photo that you want to add an effect to.
Important: Be sure to select the photo, not the calendar page.

Select an effect.
After you select an effect, it is automatically applied to the photo.
To edit a photo on a calendar page:
Double-click the page that contains the photo you want to edit.

Click the Options button in the toolbar.

Select the photo that you want to edit.
Important: Be sure to select the photo, not the calendar page.

Do one of the following:
Double-click the photo.

Click the Edit Photo button.
The photo appears in edit view. Use the edit tools to improve the photo.
Important: Any edits you apply to the photo in edit view appear in all instances of the photo, including the photo in your iPhoto library and in any other projects that use the photo.
After editing the photo, click the button at the top of the iPhoto window (the button contains the project title) to return to the project.
